InnovaMed Alliance

InnovaMed

Cardiovascular Medicine (CVM), the leading provider of cardiovascular services in Cobb and surrounding counties and Quantum Radiology, the largest private practice radiology group in the state of Georgia, announced the formation of InnovaMed Alliance.

InnovaMed is a clinical research site that specializes in conducting Phase II-IV studies. The objective of this multidisciplinary collaboration is working with the healthcare industry to transform discoveries into solutions, enabling patients to have access to novel therapies.

According to Gregory L. Simone, M.D., FACC, the founder and President of CVM, "research is the heart of innovation, progress and improvement. InnovaMed is dedicated to finding better ways to improve the quality of life for our patients and our community".

Alan Zuckerman, M.D., President and CEO of Quantum Radiology, noted "Quantum Radiology and Cardiovascular Medicine have emphasized bringing cutting-edge care to our community. Cutting-edge care is a consequence of research, and InnovaMed brings research to us."

Additionally, InnovaMed is launching with the WARCEF study funded by the NIH’s National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke. The primary objective is to determine if warfarin or aspirin is superior for preventing allcause mortality and stroke in patients with heart failure via a randomized, double-blind, multi-center clinical trial. Both practices look forward to combining their strengths for improved medical research and better patient care.

Established in 1980 by Dr. Simone, CVM has become the largest and most well respected cardiology practice in the WellStar Health System market area. CVM is recognized by the Medical Group Management Association as a "Better Performer" as compared with similar group practices nationwide. The practice has achieved this distinction based on its comprehensive service offerings, proven expertise in preventive care, leading-edge treatment of acute and chronic conditions and dedication to improving the quality of life for patients.

Quantum Radiology is the largest private practice radiology group in Georgia with 36 sub-specialized physicians performing over 600,000 procedures annually. In addition to radiology services at 4 hospital locations and 8 outpatient diagnostic centers, Quantum also contracts with practices nationwide to deliver outsourced post processing services and workflow solutions for advanced multislice CT exams. Also, in collaboration with Philips Medical Systems and Toshiba Medical Systems, Quantum trains physicians from both the US and abroad in cardiac CT interpretation and post processing.
